Event Profile

Glasgow Night Hike is a 10 mile festival on foot taking you through a unique night-time journey of Glasgow with exclusive access to some of the best and most well loved buildings. The route is currently being confirmed and will be on the website in the new year, however will include a stop at our fabulous Maggie’s Centre. In previous years buildings such as Riverside Museum, The Briggait, Glasgow Art Club, Cottiers, Glasgow University, Gallery of Modern Art and the Botanic Gardens opened their doors to our Night Hikers.

The event will take place on Friday 7 September. Starting at 7.30pm, with an opening party to get your feet in the mood, the Glasgow Night Hike will be a fun challenge so get your friends, family and colleagues involved.

Every penny you raise will go towards changing the lives of people affected by cancer. Maggie’s Centres are almost entirely run by voluntary funding. From our buildings and staff to our tea and biscuits! By taking part in the Glasgow Night Hike you will be supporting our aim to have 15 centres across the UK by 2014, extending our network of emotional and practical support to all those who need it.

What is Maggie's?

Maggie's is about empowering people to live with, through and beyond cancer by bringing together professional help, communities of support and building design to create exceptional centres for cancer care.

Maggie’s Centres are for anyone affected by cancer. They are places where people are welcome whenever they need us – from just being diagnosed, or undergoing treatment, to post-treatment, recurrence, end of life or in bereavement.

We also welcome family and friends, as they are often deeply affected by cancer too. We know that those who love and look after someone with cancer can feel just as frightened, vulnerable and uncertain.
