A tough, well organized, friendly and challenging middle distance race, moved from the end of September to the middle of the race season. Held at the impressive Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, home of the sailing events for the 2012 Olympics, it makes the most of the hills of the Jurassic Coast. Following a 1.2 mile open water swim along Ham Beach, the 55 mile bike course offers a succession of hills, whilst the 13.1 mile run includes a hill known locally as 'Heart Attack Hill' a very steep 400m ascent onto Portland Bill. Stick with it though because the hard work on the bike and run is (slightly!) compensated for by the stunning Dorset scenery.
There is plenty of time to relax back at the sailing academy where the BustinSkin team will feed you the best bit of lasagne you have ever tasted, that's if you're not too tired to chew!

Bustinskin have built up an impressive list of events in the last couple of years. Based in Weymouth, they make the most of Bowleaze Cove, situated to the left of the bay for open water swims and the Jurassic Coast for the bike and run sections of triathlons of varying distances. The inaugural Middle Distance triathlon in September 2009 was generally regarded by the competitors as one of the toughest around, so it will surely become a must do event in the triathlete calendar.
For 2012 there will be 4 open water swims, a pool based Sprint at the Osprey Leisure Centre, a sea Sprint or Classic at Bowleaze and the Middle Distance Triathlon at the end of the season designed by the devil himself.
For 2012 BustinSkin are also giving you a discount of 15% when you enter either the Triathlon or open water swim series.
