Football Tenable – Footy Quiz Game That Tests Your Wits

Playing football quizzes used to be one of my favourite activities, whether in pubs or online during the pandemic. One trivia game a friend recently recommended to me was Football Tenable, also known as Footy Ten-A-Ball.

What’s Football Tenable?

Football Tenable is an online football quiz game that tests players’ wits. The concept of the game is pretty straightforward. It requires the player to name 10 players from a specific category and put the answers in the correct order.

For example, a question could be Argentina’s top ten goalscorers born after 1954? This is a question I got when I first played the game. The question I got in my second game was about which Senegalese players have the most Premier League appearances since 2005/06.

There are two different modes of games in Football Tenable, ‘Classic’ and ‘Tension’ modes. In ‘Classic’ mode, you have as many tries as you like to name the ten players, while in ‘Tension’, you are given five lives.

You lose a life every time you produce a wrong answer in ‘Tension’ mode, which gives the game a slightly more tense feel, hence the name presumably.

What was the difficulty of the two games?

As somebody with a good knowledge of football and who writes about the beautiful game, Tenable Football gave me a test for sure. For instance, I had six or seven of Argentina’s top ten goalscorers born after 1954.

The rest of the top ten answers I had to find out using the power of Google. I was kicking myself when I saw the players I had missed out on.

On the Senegalese question, I was surprisingly good, once again naming six or seven players, but this time losing my last life, with Tenable winning the game.

I do believe most football fans will enjoy Tenable Football. I think the difficulty of the games will depend on your particular area of expertise in football.

If you are looking for more of a challenge, then ‘Tension’ mode may be for you, as it does offer a bit more jeopardy and punishes you for your mistakes like a world-class striker.
