What the Footy Logos Game is All About

New games are constantly springing up online, pushing people to test their knowledge of any number of weird and wonderful things. If you like a mix of various puzzles, then dailypuzzle.com might be for you.

If you want things to be a little bit more highbrow, the New York Times Games section will be what you’re after. You can even get stuck into cryptic crosswords in a bitesized manner thanks to minutecryptic.com.

For football lovers, a new game has come out that aims to test your knowledge of a football team’s crest, thanks to the release of Footy Logos. The question is, what is it all about and how do you go about playing it?

How To Play: Game Rules

Footy Logos Team Guess

In its most basic sense, Footy Logos is a game that presents you with four club crests that have had any identifying words or letters removed. You need to decide which football clubs the crests belong to from a pre-prepared list of 16. Once you’ve clicked on your answers, you’re given another four to identify.

In total, there are 16 club crests each day, with new ones being released in time for the following day so that the fun can start all over again.

If you aren’t sure about the crest of any of the clubs, you can just leave it until the end and then go back and see which ones you haven’t yet put forward an answer for, doing so then.

At that point, you submit your selections and are promptly told what your score is out of 16. If you’ve got seven of them right, for instance, then you’ll have a score of 7/16 displayed. From there, it is kind of up to you what you want to do.

You might choose to see what you got right and which ones you were wrong about, for example, or you may decide that you’ve done so well (or so badly) that you want to share your score with your friends. If you want to keep a record of your streak, you can log in to your account and ensure that you will know how well you did from one minute to the next on previous days’ questions.

Extra Games

Whilst the Daily Game is the key one that most people will look to play on a regular basis, there are other options available for those that choose to give their email address to the company in question. If you think that you’re a real hot shot, for example, then you can play the Time Attack game, which is all about answering as quickly as possible.

You start with 60 seconds on the clock, being rewarded an additional three seconds for each correct answer that you submit as well as having five seconds docked from your time when you give an incorrect answer. If you manage to build up a streak, you can multiply your total score.

If you think your knowledge of club crests stretches back over the years, you can opt to play the historical games. These offer you classic crests from previous eras, such as 28 of the teams that have played in the Premier League at one point or another, or 22 of the teams from history that have plied their trade in the Brasileirão Série A.

If the latter feels like something that is right up your alley, you might want to look towards the Country Challenges, which ask you to name 20 random clubs from Brazil, say, or 20 mixed teams from the five biggest leagues across Europe (the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1).

Current Competition Challenges

Footy Logos Competitions

For those that like their football logo questions to be a little bit more modern, you might want to ensure that you’re logged in and then head to the ‘Competitions’ section.

There, you will find questions about the current leagues of each of the following, which we’ve given you alongside how many logos you will actually need to identify:

Competition Number of Logos
World Cup 2026 41
Champions League 35
Europa League 36
Copa Libertadores 40
Premier League 20
La Liga 20
Bundesliga 18
Serie A 20
Brasileirão Série A 20
Ligue 1 18
Liga MX 18
Eredivisie 18
Major League Soccer 30
Liga Portugal 18
EFL Championship 23
Brasileirão Série B 20
Scottish Premiership 12

Once you’ve chosen the competition you fancy taking on, you will then be asked what your level is. Here, the options are Amateur, where you get the full logos, Semi-Pro, which sees the full logos blurred or masked in some way, Pro, involving the logos being cropped or zoomed in on, or GOAT, which is zoomed in and in black and white.

Whichever you opt for, you’re likely to quickly realise you don’t know as much as you thought you did….
